During the pandemic, donations, programs, and support for food security was fast and efficient! The RPC Food Bank received an $18,000 government grant, which helped not only with food, but with a new freezer, a new fridge, and many other supplies to help us run more efficiently. All food banks are struggling with donations since the pandemic, as grants and programs created specifically for food insecurity have dried up, and the public is growing weary with the constant ask for money. The government does not generally fund food banks; they are run with donations usually sought out by the organization. Our food bank is so fortunate to be able to be a member of RFDA, who supplies us with most of our food. We also are generously supported by you, our church, which provides a budget for us to pay our rent, and buy food and supplies.
We count on church members not only for financial support, but to regularly bring items to our Food Bank donation box located at the North door entrance. Now that most of us are back to church, we ask that you make it a regular habit to drop off a food donation each time you come to church!
How you can pray: Please join us in praying for our volunteers and our clients, that we may serve with the heart of Jesus, and that our clients lives are lifted out of poverty.
